7 Myths about Creating a Better Relationship

In my private practice for over 14 years no matter what my clients have come to see me about, there has always been an issue about a better relationship.

Here are 7 of the most common misconceptions my clients have related to me about having a better relationship. These misconceptions are followed by my perspective on each one of them.

Myth 1: I have to love everything about my partner.

Reality Check 1: You were born pure and pristine. You then learnt behaviors from your parents, teacher, coaches, church etc. (who did their best to teach you about a better relationship). These behaviors have become the backbone for your way of living and having a better relationship.

Perhaps a common behavior that irritates having a better relationship would be leaving the toilet seat up after use. This is merely a behavior and not the essence of the person. However, when you may consider this behavior to be the person, this destroys the concept of a better relationship, creating all kinds of conflict in your need for a better relationship.

Myth 2: Love means that I can fix your partner.

Reality Check 2: You met your partner because of some special quality or charteristic that you admired. You need to accept and allow that quality to flourish in order to allow you and your partner to grow into a better relationship.

You may be unaware that you do not even like yourself. Yet by allowing your partner to grow and expand, you will experience the quality of your partner and the beauty within you, as you begin to enjoy a better relationship.

Myth 3: I am supposed to give up the things I like in order to be in a better relationship.

Reality Check 3: Giving up the things you like to be in a better relationship is like take a knife and cutting away a part of yourself. Your better relationship is based on the uniqueness of you and your partner.

When you give up your uniqueness you rob yourself of a better relationship, your passion and your partner of your creativity.

Myth 4: I will be rescued by a knight in shining armor.

Reality Check 4: You may have been conditioned to live your life expecting someone to take care of you. What happens if that person becomes ill, and is no longer able to take care of you?

Your responsibility in creating a better relationship, is to bring your passion to the table of your relationship. Some days you will be the knight in shining armour and another day your partner will be the knight in shining armour of a better relationship.

You will each get a chance to shine like star in a better relationship because of your strengths and weaknesses.

Myth 5: It costs a lot to be in a relationship.

Reality Check 5: In a material context, a better relationship can be expensive if you think that love is based on the bigger house, car or boat. Although some of these material assets are necessary, they should not be at the expense of creating a better relationship.

Love is creating a better relationship by building a relationship that is based on the simple things in life, like walking and holding hands, going on a picnic (just the two of you), or sharing an ice cream.

Love in a better relationship is not about what you show on the outside but what you express in you heart. Love is not about money or materialism, love just is.

Myth 6: Love in a relationship is or is not a feeling.

Reality Check 6: It is not what you say, it is what you do. You can say, “I love you” which may be merely words and no feelings (action). Love is the action of doing.

If you make a cup of tea for yourself, (the water is boiled), make a cup of tea for your partner. Whether your partner wants the tea or not is irrelevant, it is the thought that counts and the action that cements a better relationship.

Myth 7: I don’t have to work at my relationship.

Reality Check 7: As a child, you learned to creep before you walked. Then you learned the letters of the alphabet. In order to write, you had to learn how to put those letters together to make words and sentences. These sentences then become the way in which you communicated.

When you and your partner stop communicating after learning how to use the letters of the alphabet in sentences, it’s like 2 tape recorders talking to each other – Nobody is at home to enjoy a better relationship.

In summary:

1. Your partner’s behavior in a better relationship is not your partner’s true essence.
2. There is no need to have a clone of yourself. A better relationship requires some variety.
3. Giving up of your uniqueness to be in a better relationship is like throwing out the baby with the bath water.
4. In a better relationship, there are no superior partners, just equal partners.
5. Love in creating a better relationship is not about money and the material assets (although there are important) but the simple things in life.
6. Love in a better relationship is active not passive.
7. Lack of communication crushes your desire for a better relationship.

Yes, that is right, flowers should be given throughout the year and not just reserved for Valentine’s Day. The reason for this is when women receive flowers they feel special, and if you are giving flowers for a special occasion then making your girlfriend feel extra special is very important. Also, flowers may be given for no reason at all and this will certainly make your girlfriend feel as if she has the most amazing boyfriend ever.

Girlfriend’s Birthday
Your girlfriend’s birthday is right around the corner or worse yet today, and you are searching for the perfect gift. However, the best gift you can give is the gift of flowers and fortunately no matter how serious your relationship with your girlfriend there are many types of flowers that are appropriate and will help you take your relationship to the next level.

The reason why is because flowers are powerful and women are enchanted by them. Women love to tell other women they received flowers, it shows their boyfriend is confident, really interested in them and cares for them no matter what flower is given. Although, there are some flowers that are especially great birthday gifts.

For example, honeysuckle is a good birthday gift because it symbolizes happiness. Carnations in red symbolize passion and pink symbolize your girlfriend is always on your mind, so either choice is a great choice. Gerber daisies and wildflowers are both great selections because they are beautiful, bright, and are not interpreted as “coming on too strong” if the relationship is new.

Girlfriend’s Graduation
Your girlfriend may be graduating from high school, college, or an advanced degree program, but regardless of the degree she is receiving, she will love to receive flowers. This shows not only that you are proud of her, but also that you care enough about her to buy flowers that are appropriate for this special occasion.

For example, for your girlfriend’s graduation forget-me-nots are great choices because they represent true love as well as memories. Caladiums are good choices as well because they represent delight and joy while white carnations signify good luck and sweetness. Of course, pink flowers stand for happiness and graduation is a happy occasion and a perfect reason to give your girlfriend pink roses.

Valentine’s Day
Red roses are the best flowers for Valentine’s Day and the type of flowers most women want to receive on this special day. The relationship you have with your girlfriend may affect the color of roses you buy, however. Red roses should be reserved for longer relationships where the couple is passionately in love. Pink roses are appropriate for a newer relationship because they symbolize the relationship and happiness, but do not put any pressure on the girl regarding your feelings other than to let her know you really like her.

Any other color of rose is appropriate as well, especially if your girlfriend is passionate about a certain color. Primrose is another good flower choice to give your girlfriend on Valentine’s Day because it is in essence saying you cannot live without her; the exact sentiment you want to express on the day of love. We perused the internet and our own ever expanding dream dictionary, to find some common dreams. Here below are 10 of the most common dreams we have while deep asleep. How many have you had?

1. Nudity – Being naked is an obvious symbol of being exposed or being vulnerable in public. If you see someone else naked in your dream, it means that you’ve discovered the “naked truth” about someone or something.

2. Falling – Falling, or flying, has to do with freedom and weightlessness. If you are falling in your dreams and you are unafraid, then it means you’re going to overcome the troubles in your life with ease. If you are afraid, then it means you are feeling overwhelmed.

3. Dying – Death, like in the Tarot, does not mean the end of all things. Instead, it means rebirth, the end of one thing and the beginning of another. The death of a loved one in your dreams is symbolic of remembrance and guilt; the death of yourself lends the idea that you’re trying to become a new person.

4. Accident – If you dream you’re in an accident, chances are good that you’re feeling pent-up guilt over something that you’re unconsciously punishing yourself for. Did you cause the accident? Did someone hit you? It might mean that you’re “driving yourself” too hard, or that you’re afraid someone is trying to sabotage you.

5. Chase – Being chased is mostly an indication of worry. You may be trying to get away from something you feel is insurmountable. Being chased is also sign of some kind of insecurity or fear. It’s a signal from your subconscious to live up to your responsibilities.

6. Running – Running denotes avoidance. If you’re running in your dreams, you might be trying to flee an issue that you are having trouble with confronting.

7. Sex – Sex usually symbolizes completion on both a physical and spiritual level. It’s a feeling of wholeness. If it’s sex in public, it might mean that you’re not afraid to show who you are, all of you, and all that you can be.

Lucid Dreaming.

What is a lucid dream? Any dream where one becomes aware that they are dreaming is a lucid dream. Once the dreamer has realized they are in fact dreaming they may be able to control or manipulate their surroundings, rather than waking up from the dream.

Lucid dreams can be fantastical or reality based, they are usually quite vivid. A lucid dream can come on gradually as one realizes they are in a dream as it takes place, or when a dreamer lapses instantly from waking to dream state while conscious.

This is something that may happen to most people on occasion, or something one may seek out to participate in on purpose. There are many techniques in order to learn to purposely lucid dream. Working on the ability to recall one’s dreams is usually a step in the right directions.

One may want to start a dream journal, immediately after waking up one should document everything they can remember. This helps because recognizing the patterns of one’s dreams can help in recognizing them as such, and in turn being able to control the dream and surroundings.

Another way to figure out if one is dreaming while still within their dream is to do a “reality test.” Text can be very telling, look at some text from a book or website, and look away, when you look at it again, see if it has changed or moved, the same can be done with the time on a digital clock or watch.

Lucid dreaming is perfectly natural, and does not involve any spells, or “dark arts.”
There is nothing “occult” about lucid dreams; they are simply a part of the sleep cycle and dreams. The next time you think you might be in a dream, really take a look around and see if you are!

Practicality is the hallmark of Capricorns; one thing seemed to be a recurring theme when I researched this topic: Earth signs, earth tones, no muss, and no fuss. While I am all for practicality and earth tones that doesn’t mean it has to be boring!

Capricorns tend to opt for a classic look, over something flashy and trendy (this is where I diverge from my sign.) for all you true Capricorns I’m going to do a sparkly neutral look that could easily transition from work to evening with a little added eyeliner and mascara.

Physically, Capricorns are known for having clear skin, narrow foreheads, wide smiles, deep-set eyes, dark hair, and prominent cheek bones. David Bowie and Annie Lennox are two notable Capricorns. Red lips with black or grey eye shadow will always be acceptable, but let’s do something different.

Start out with your regular foundation routine. For me, this is moisturizer, primer, then concealer and finally mineral powder. However if it’s the winter, or if you have an uneven skin tone, by all means use a good quality medium coverage liquid foundation.

Next up, eyes: Apply an eye shadow primer to the lids all the way up to the brow bone and underneath the eye (I used “Painterly” paint pot from MAC). This will not only prime the area and make your colors show truer, but it will also brighten the eye area.

Take your lightest shade, (“Chill” from MAC) this will be your highlighter, and apply it from lash line to brow bone, and on the inner corners of your eyes.

Take the medium shade, (“Sin” from Urban Decay) and sweep it in a windshield wiper motion into your crease. If your eyes do not have a crease, just place this where you’d like the illusion of one. Next, take your gold shade, (“Baked” from Urban Decay) and add it to the outer third of your eye lid, just on the outer corners and blend inward, darken the very outer corner with a warm brown color, (“Roach” from Urban Decay)

Don’t forget to blend your colors together so they appear to be a seamless gradient or wash of color as opposed to blocks or stripes. Once your eye shadow is blended to your liking, apply a basic black eyeliner close to the lash line.

Take a white or peach liner pencil (“I get no Kick” eye kohl from MAC) and line the lower lash line on the inside (this will make your eyes appear larger). Then, apply a coat or two of your favorite mascara. In the face chart, all the brands and colors are listed for easy reference.

To the apples of your cheeks (the fullest, roundest part in the middle of your cheek), apply a golden pink blush (“Pleasantry” from MAC.) To the tops of your cheeks apply a shimmery highlighter (“Chez Chez Lame” from MAC), and to the hollows (where you see shadows when you suck in your cheeks) very lightly apply bronzer to define the shape of your cheekbones (“Aztec” from RawColor).

For the lips, use a lip brush (for accuracy) and fill in (“23”rouge artist intense from Make Up Forever) top with (“Claire” from Buxom) lip gloss and you’re ready to go!

If you want to make this more of an evening look, apply a black shadow to the outer 1/3 of your eyes, and blend generously, finishing with a thick cat’s eye sweep of eye liner. Apply false lashes if you are going for an event or party, add a shade of lipstick one to two shades darker and you’re ready for a night out on the town.

Preparing for the New Year

As the New Year approaches, it signals the feeling of turning over a new leaf, ensuring the coming year will be better than the last, and making a fresh start.

The key to keeping up with your resolutions is to keep them reasonable. Someone who has never set foot in a gym isn’t going to start going 5 times a week, every week. Just as this is a time to make new commitments about your physical health, it’s also a great time to consider your spiritual health.

Perhaps you want to try meditation, don’t be surprised if initially you have some trouble clearing your mind of ephemera. Practice will only help. Keep at it, and you’ll find over time it will become easier for you to become calm and clear.

Keeping your inner self healthy is going to help you in many other aspects of your life, especially if you want to improve your physical health. For example, working out isn’t as bad in reality as one can make it out to be. Sometimes you can talk yourself out of doing something before you’ve even had the chance to try.

By keeping yourself positive, and centered you’ll find that doing those chores and tasks that you once talked yourself out of, have now become effortless. Setting a schedule will also help, even if you don’t stick to it 100%, having a rough outline of your goals for the day, week, or month, will help keep those tasks off your mind because they have an allotted place and time.

Above all, be sure to meditate where you’re going to be comfortable and uninterrupted, even if you’re struggling with meditation itself, you’ll still get to relax in peace and quiet, while taking a respite from your day.

The Making of Holiday Events

What’s your vision of this holiday season? Creating a memorable holiday is like orchestrating a major production. There are people, props, and agendas involved. Appoint yourself as the producer and bring together the pieces to transform your vision into a reality.

Start a list of what activities would give you the most pleasure, and then decide what the main event(s) will be. Are you going to be throwing a party? Having a tree-trimming party? Doing charity work? Going on a light-gazing tour? You might need to do meal planning, party planning, travel planning, and/or gift planning.

Break down your holiday event(s) into action tasks. Set priorities and schedules of the activities that need to be carried out. It’s a good idea to keep all your planning information in a notebook binder. Put all your lists and information in this to use each year. Keep meal plans, special activity plans, party plans, gift ideas, holiday card lists, and travel details in the binder.

Get others involved. Delegate some of the tasks to family or close friends. After all, you’re the producer, and producers do their best when they have a team helping them with the production.

Another piece of the holiday production would probably include meal plans. Decide on the menus and stock up on food early. It’s even a good idea to prepare any food you can in advance. Or, maybe you may want to let someone else cook for you and have your meal catered? If you have helpers, designate a “desert team” to do the holiday baking.

No holiday production list is without a separate gift list. Get creative with gift-giving. Make a list of gift ideas that you can create yourself (or buy at affordable costs). Think of something memorable and personal, something useful, something consumable, something that grows, maybe some excursion experiences.

If you have some artistic abilities, make a drawing, put your song on a cassette tape, or write some prose and mount it. How about putting together some personal mementos, like an album of photo collections, or a memorable video?

Of course, if you have any gifts that need to be mailed, you must also be timely in shipping these out. With postal security, this is important in ensuring the gifts sent by mail arrive in time.
The same applies to getting holiday cards mailed out. Schedule this on your calendar so that they are received a week or two before the holiday. Now, a good producer is only as good as they can stay within a budget. So, establish a budget and be realistic on it.

It’s best to try and break down a budget for each activity. More too often, people resort to using credit cards for their spending needs. But try to adopt policy to do cash-spending. You won’t have to look back “after the fact” that you’re heavy in debt.

Decorating the home for the holidays is yet another part of the production that helps put people in the holiday spirit. You can even make a family event out of this. By the time the holiday events arrive, you just might be nominated to win the Holiday Awards!

So as we all know there’s another installment to the saga of Twilight with Breaking Dawn out in theaters recently. And it’s been rumored quite a lot that Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson has been an item through out their time playing the immortal characters of Bella Swan and Edward Cullen.

So I’ve taken it upon myself to do a basic analysis of their relationship based on Astrology. Now this is a very lose interpretation as I was not able to complete their charts due to birth time information. Hopefully I’ve gotten close with the limited information I was able to pull. So what do the stars say about this sexy couple if they continue with this relationship they may or may not have?

The individuals:

Kristen Stewart (Bella Swan) is an Aries. She enjoys a good challenge and has a child like charm. She’s one to play fair and things like sneaky behavior, violence and rage are offensive to her. She wants to be considered accomplished and important while facing her harder obstacles. She’s conflicted a lot internally because she needs one thing but wants another.

She’s very diplomatic in the sense that she’s capable of viewing both sides of the coin in any given situation. Her moon sign is in Libra so she’s got a strong need for a partnership and she can feel that void when someone isn’t there to share her with. It’s not uncommon to see people with this placement involved in marriages or living situations early on in life.

Animal Messages.

About three weeks ago, I had an interesting experience while I was working as a security guard. I was at a car dealership in a remote location. The place is mostly surrounded by open fields, although it is close to a major highway. I had noticed some animals around while making my rounds. I have seen several cats, a skunk, a couple of toads, some rather loud birds, a raccoon, a hawk, an owl, and I have heard coyotes although I have never seen them.

During this particular time period, I noticed that there were several praying mantis’ around. This seemed quite unusual to me. I had not seen any of them up until then. I happened to notice because as I drove around I saw them on the pavement in the parking lot. In fact, one night, I saw seven or eight of them. I began to think that something was up.

It seemed like they were trying to get my attention. One time, while I was checking cars, there was one just above the door handle. Another time, as I opened the gate, there was one on the gate. Then when I went to open the gate the next time there was one on the wall right above the gate latch. Many times they would just sort of show up in unexpected places, but mostly in front of my car. I had to drive carefully to avoid them.

To top it all off, one got into my car and wound up on the dashboard. I had to get out of the car, go around to the other side, and open the door. Then I went back around to the driver’s side and blew on him so he would get out of the car. If that isn’t getting your attention, I don’t know what is.

I talked to Kat, ext 7054, one of Foretell’s psychics, about all the praying mantis’ that I had seen. She said they have a message for me that had to do with inner strength. Then she asked me if I was talking to them. I said no, but I figured why not. I started talking to the praying mantis’ but I felt awkward and I didn’t really know what to say to them. (What do you say to a praying mantis? Sounds almost like a Japanese Zen Koan.)

So, I just tried to be polite. I just said hello, how are you and are you having good hunting. I didn’t like disturbing them, I figured they were hunting bugs and I didn’t really want to bother them. I also didn’t want to make them nervous.

A few days later, I saw a friend of mine who works in a pharmacy. For some reason I mentioned seeing all the praying mantis and how they were trying to tell me something. She said that the praying mantis was one of her favorite creatures. Interesting. I wondered if maybe she was thinking about me.

Later on I found out from one of Foretell’s psychics that I had been a high priest in ancient Egypt in a previous life, and that this woman had been my daughter. We apparently had a very strong connection and I taught her everything I knew in that life.

Interestingly, after I talked to this woman, I didn’t see as many of the praying mantis’ anymore. In fact they have pretty much disappeared. I think that is probably due in part to the fact that the summer is over and their life cycle is probably at an end, but it does seem like an interesting coincidence.

Verna’s Answer.

I asked my subconscious mind to show me some other ways of dealing with money the other day, right before I went to sleep. (Little did I know what that would result in.) Then I had a dream. I was in a bar that had a lot of people in it. It wasn’t packed, but all of the bar stools were taken and all the tables were full.

The people were nice. The bar was off to my left. There were people at the back of the room also and I think in front of where I was standing. A thin, younger man (20′s or 30′s) came up to me and gave me about $7.00 in cash. I could see the bills clearly, because they were fanned out. He said it was time to buy the next round, and by the way, he pushed the money at me I could tell it was my turn to buy.

The crowd of people seemed relatively happy up until this point. They seemed content. They weren’t rowdy or boisterous. Actually, they were rather quiet, and I could feel there was a kind of expectancy in them. They were all looking at me, waiting to see what I was going to do. While I felt relatively calm, part of me was afraid.

Although these people had been tolerant of me up till then, I was afraid that if I didn’t come up with enough money to buy them a round of drinks, things could get ugly. Moreover, that would be bad for me. I said to everyone in the bar: “This is what you’re going to do. You’re going to figure out what you want. Then you’re going to fight about it!” When I said this, it was in a commanding tone.

There was no hesitancy or uncertainty. That was the end of the dream. It became clear to me that all the people in the bar represented all the bills I have to pay that I don’t have the money to pay right now. (I have been waiting for a fairly large check that got sent to the wrong address.) Although I do have these fears, there is another part of me that knows that everything is going to be ok.

I think this is represented by the calm feeling in the dream. (Although everything was fine at that moment, things could change.) After thinking about this for a bit, I realized that the real issue, the core issue that the dream dealt with was my feelings of inadequacy, represented by all these nice people who were expecting me to come up with a large amount of money (right now) that I didn’t have and had no way of coming up with. I have had this feeling for a long time.

I talked to Kat, ext 7054, one of Foretell’s psychics, about this dream. It occurred to me to mention something to her that I had done some months ago and was wondering about. I had done some workshops back around 1994 with a top notch trance channel named Dr. Verna Aridon Yater. Verna was originally from Santa Barbara, but moved to Colorado Springs not long before I met her. She died a year or two ago, but I had felt her presence a few times since then. A few months ago, I was having trouble with money and asked Verna if she could help me increase my income. I don’t normally ask Verna for things because I know she is busy and I don’t like to bother her. However, I didn’t know whom else to ask for help, and I figured if anyone could help me, it was Verna.

I had not gotten any impressions since then about what Verna was up to, but after I figured out what this dream was about, it became clear to me that this was Verna’s Answer.

Try to trace the source and figure out why it came to you in the first place, is it related to something subconscious, or someone close to you? Is it something you could have known consciously yourself? These are good questions to start your journey.

Try meditation, guided or solo. The most important thing is, don’t get discouraged. You won’t see immediate results, but if you work at it, you might just find that you’re a little bit psychic yourself!

The Origins of Halloween

Autumn finds its stride in October. The light of day begins to wane and a slight chill begins to settle in the air. In tune with the cues of the season, the plants begin to direct their energies to their roots ensuring their survival through the winter. Like the plants, the farmer reaps his final harvest of both crop and livestock for storage ensuring the community’s survival through the winter.

In times when people lived in sync with the Earth’s seasons, the final harvest would traditionally culminate into a celebration of all that had come to fruition before preparing to draw their energies within for the leaner times ahead. In the pre-Christian Celtic regions, this celebration was called Samhain [sow en], loosely translated from Gaelic meaning “summer’s end”. Celebrated on November 1st, midway between the Autumnal Equinox and the Winter Solstice, Samhain was considered the Celtic New Year.

People would gather in their villages, setting fire to the bones of the slaughtered livestock. It is said, each family would then light a torch from these bonfires to bring to their own hearths to warm their homes. It was believed that on this eve of the descent into the darkest part of the year, the veil between the worlds of the living and the departed was at its thinnest. Thus it naturally became a time of honoring ancestors and seeking guidance through divination. To protect themselves from unwanted visits, some would light hollowed turnips carved with faces and place them around their homes, and some donned guises of otherworldly beings to fool the harmful spirits.

As was common when regions became Christianized, traditional pagan celebrations and Christian holidays that held similar sentiment became entwined. The traditions of Samhain blended well with those of All Souls Day and Hallowmas. Eventually this space of time came to be known as Halloween.

Jupiter the Gas Giant.

So in honor of our biggest gas giant in the sky I’ve decided to do a couple of blogs on planets. I’m starting with Jupiter simply because right now (well at night or in the early hours) we can see Jupiter. I wanted to look at both scientific and mythological sides to this.

To get a feel as to what Jupiter is all about. I remember as a kid watching 2010 which was a sequel to 2001: A Space Odyssey which was a kooky story about how Jupiter turns into a star and the events that led up to this point told via Arthur C. Clarke (author of all space odyssey science fiction novels). It’s fueled this need to get to know my universe just a bit more than what I learned in grade school.

In science, Jupiter is mostly composed of hydrogen and helium (88-92% hydrogen and 8-12% helium). It roughly orbits the sun every 12 years and it’s one the largest planets in our solar system that is classified as a gas giant. There are 64 moons around Jupiter.

The most famous ones were named by Simon Marius back in 1610 and they are Io, Europa, Ganymede, and Callisto. You can even see those moons with binoculars or a small telescope in clear evenings if Jupiter is in the right spot. Being such a big planet that can be seen from earth there have been so many different stories told about its existence.

Since you can see Jupiter with the naked eye it’s not surprising that many cultures have different adaptations of this planet that co-inside with their religion or even their astrology. Jupiter can be so bright that it’s commonly mistaken as a star. In culture Jupiter played may rolls through human history. In Babylonian times Jupiter was represented by their god Marduk.

Babylonians used the orbit of this planet as a way to help define the constellation of their zodiac. It’s not unknown for civilizations to use planets or stars to help understand the universe. In Classic Roman Mythology Jupiter was the king of all gods and the equivalent to Zeus in Greek mythology. In Mediterranean mythology (Roman and Greek) Jupiter is a very strong figure amongst other deities.

I guess when you have the title ‘king of the gods’ you need to have a strong presents in religion. In Asiatic communities the planet Jupiter was also called the wood star based on the Chinese 5 elements. As a fun fact, Thursday drives from ‘Thor’s Day’, the god Thor, in Germanic mythology, being associated with the planet Jupiter.

So many interesting facts on both ends, such a HUGE planet to get to them all! Jupiter is an interesting study in not only science but in mythology as well. Jupiter has helped shaped religions, zodiacs, and other sources. But even with all the information out there about Jupiter we are still learning so many things about its existence. I can hardly wait for the next discovery!

What is Color Therapy?

Color therapy, some times also referred to as Chromo therapy or colorology, is a homeopathic practice which uses color or light to balance energy and promote healing either physically, mentally, or spiritually. One of our psychics Shawna (7035) brought the idea of Color Therapy to my attention.

Have you ever noticed that certain colors seem to have an effect on your mood or feelings? I certainly have! You might be wondering; which colors do what? Not everyone responds to colors the same way, or to the same degree. I’ve always noticed, for instance, bright yellows seem to make me feel energized and happy, and blues calm me.

There are different methods and applications for color therapy; one use is to stimulate the chakras. The first chakra all the way at the bottom of your spine is associated with the color red, and helps with survival and grounding. The second is in your stomach; it correlates with the color orange, and pertains to your emotions and sexuality.

The third chakra is at the solar plexus and is yellow, this regards your power and ego. The fourth is your heart. It’s linked with green, love, and responsibility. The fifth, which is in your throat is coupled with blue and is tied to your physical and spiritual communication.

The sixth chakra, represented by indigo or purple is where your third eye is, just above your eyebrows, in the center of your forehead. This chakra is the center for compassion, forgiving, and understanding. The last chakra, the seventh is at the crown of your head and is indicated by the color violet. This chakra connects you to universal energies and helps with the transmission of ideas and information.

So part of the theory of color therapy is that by being exposed to the various colors of your chakras, or other colors derived from them, situations can be improved in those specific areas. It’s also said that certain colors can help things like dyslexia. A lot of it is just theoretical, but exposing your self to color and colorful things is wonderful, even if nothing at all is wrong.

All About Reiki Pt 2.

Reiki’s Effects
Is Reiki effective? According to the Wikipedia article on Reiki, studies were done
to evaluate whether in fact Reiki was sufficient to heal various conditions. The studies concluded that it did not. Now to me that does not discredit or invalidate Reiki.

It just means that according to the studies, Reiki by itself is not sufficient to heal specific conditions. I feel this is a correct conclusion. I would not ever attempt to convince anyone that Reiki is enough, by itself, to heal someone of an acute
medical condition.

In my experience, Reiki definitely has a positive effect on people. Virtually everyone I have ever done Reiki on or sent it to has felt its effects and made positive remarks about it. Animals love it and that in itself is a good sign. There have been a few cases where people had negative reactions, but I think that is because sometimes the energy triggers or stirs up emotional reactions in people who have unresolved emotional issues.

This can take the form of jealousy or other emotions. But I would not take
that as a reflection on Reiki itself. Again, those situations do not invalidate or discredit Reiki. In fact, the guidance that people are typically given when receiving their first Reiki session or Level one attunement is that the Reiki energy
can trigger a “healing crisis.” What this means is that the energy is powerful enough to bring up some unresolved mental or emotional issues.

Sometimes past lives can even come up, if one is open enough to recognize them. I have demonstrated and proven to myself over and over again that Reiki can be sent to other people far away.

In one case I sent Reiki to someone 2,000 miles away and received confirmation from people close to them that it had an effect. In another case I sent Reiki to a friend 1300 miles away and also received positive confirmation from them about receiving the energy.

Then this person asked if I could send it to their friend, a person I have never met. Again, I received confirmation that they received the energy. I have sent Reiki to people I don’t even know and have never even met – all I knew was their name and approximately where they lived, and again received confirmation that they got the energy.

In another case I did Reiki on someone (a psychic) who had pneumonia. I did not know it at the time. This person had difficulty breathing. Later on they told me that the Reiki energy had helped the medical experts at the hospital to attain a clearer diagnosis of the condition, sooner than would otherwise have been the case, and also that the Reiki had quite likely shortened their hospital stay to 3
or 4 days instead of a week.

While this is not verifiable by empirical means, since this information is from a reliable psychic, I feel it is accurate. So, while Reiki may not be a one stop definite “cure” for serious medical conditions, it definitely helps.

Reiki Lineages and Controversies
The subject of “Lineage” can be a big topic among Reiki practitioners. What it refers to is “who was your Reiki Master and who did they learn their Reiki from?”

This should be an unbroken lineage of Reiki masters. In some cases it’s just another form of “mine is better than yours.” In other cases it is possibly a
legitimate concern. I have not personally known of any “Reiki Scams” but that doesn’t mean that they don’t happen.

A few years ago a book was published about Reiki, and the author also included drawings of the Reiki Symbols. This caused quite a controversy. The author stated that basically “the Reiki Symbols are Sacred, but not Secret.” This could be taken as a boundary violation or a violation of trust, but I don’t seem to recall being told not to show the symbols to anyone – except the “Master Symbol.”

Well, that one is in the book too! In the end I was actually grateful that the Reiki Symbols were published, because that meant I could check them with another source. It also allowed me to see two special versions of the Master Symbol, one of which was the Buddhist Master Symbol, and the other was a more modern version of the Master Symbol, which I use quite often.

Is it possibile to “attune oneself” to Reiki? I don’t think so, although there is a video on YouTube that claims that you can be attuned to Reiki just by watching that video. I can’t say whether this is possible or not, but I would say if you want to learn Reiki, you should learn it from someone in person, not over the Web.

That’s the only way (I think) that you can be sure you are getting what you pay for, ostensibly from someone who knows what they are doing. As far as I am concerned, anyone can claim they are a Reiki Practitioner – there is really no licensing of it, except that (at least in some states) you have to be an ordained minister in order to lay hands on a person.

This is (as far as I know) not really a big issue. There are websites from various “Universal Life Churches” for example that will ordain you if you will email them.

Reiki Attunements
A Reiki Attunement is a special ceremony where the Reiki master initiates the student into a specific level of the Reiki practice (either Reiki Level I, II or III). In this ceremony, the student is sitting and the Reiki Master traces symbols over their hands and other parts of the body.

In Reiki Level I, the student attains the ability to channel the Reiki energy through his hands, and is taught the Reiki Precepts and Hand Placements for doing a Reiki session on another person. In Reiki Level II, the student is given the Reiki Symbols which allow him to do mental, emotional, spiritual and distant healing.

In the Reiki Level III or Reiki Master Level, the student is given a special Master Symbol, and (optionally) attains the ability to teach Reiki to others. Reiki’s Origins
Where does Reiki come from? This is a difficult question and is probably best answered by a psychic. The story I read was that Reiki came from Shiva, which I think is one of the Hindu gods.

Beyond that I really don’t know. There have been other stories crediting Reiki to Enlightened Masters such as Buddha and perhaps Jesus. Now I am not really sure that Jesus used Reiki, I think that is somewhat doubtful, but it is possible that the Buddha had something to do with it – or someone who was in the Buddhist Lineage.

I have studied the teachings of the Buddha (I happen to be Buddhist) and there is no mention of Reiki in his teachings, but I have seen a so-called Buddhist Reiki Master symbol. I think Reiki does not fundamentally conflict with any person’s religious beliefs. If you asked the question, “Would any Enlightened Master approve of Reiki?”, I think the answer would be yes.

The fundamental intent of Reiki is for healing. I spoke to Cat, one of Foretell’s Psychics, about the origins of Reiki. I asked her if she could tell if either Jesus or Buddha had anything to do with Reiki. She said that yes, the Buddha, had something to do with Reiki, but probably not Jesus.

Psychics through History

We as a society have been relying on psychics to help us spiritually grow since the beginning of civilization. The first examples of ‘Psychics’ have been seen through out all the lands of the earth. Some examples are as old as our civilization.

Shamans, Medicine men, Oracles, Prophets, readers, and seers have made a huge impact on our ancestors. The more popular shaman and medicine men/woman were in Native American and early Asiatic cultures. In fact, Shaman and medicine men/women have been used through out the entire world.

The oldest Archaeological find of a shaman burial site is 12,000 years old in Israel. Some believe that Shamans have been in existence since before organized religion in the Neolithic era. They would use there abilities to help the community with herbal remedies such as sage, cedar, or morning glory plants.

Shaman and medicine men/women utilized practices such as songs, dancing, and sweat lodges for healing rituals, obtaining animal souls for better hunting and leading sacrifices to tribal spirits to better enhance the community in which they belong.

The Pythia, or as it’s commonly known, the Oracle at Delphi, were the priestesses at the temple of Apollo. The Oracle is mostly known due to Greek historians such as Plato, Sophodes, and Ovid. As well as being the most prestigious source of divination in the Mediterranean, the Oracle had a strong following.

From the 8thst century B.C. to 393 A.D. the Oracle at Delphi would supply seekers with the words from the ‘Gods’ or divination through deep meditation and vapors that emanated from the rocks on which the temple stood. Giving people answers to the questions they had about life or their situations.

Because the oracle at Delphi would only perform an act of prophesy at the start of spring on the 7th day of the month, minor priestesses would use colored beans to implement yes or no questions.

Learning about the different ways we has human beings have tried to break through the ethereal barrier and obtain answers to questions of life and the soul I’ve come to discover certain things. We all have our own opinions of what works for us. I personally like the more enlightened version of today’s psychic.

Today’s psychics have evolved from these early origins of shamans and priestesses. Less gas fumes, plants, or sacrifices and more of a focus on knowledge and strong clairvoyance with today’s psychic. Yes, I would have to say it seems like our current society is getting a better deal.

Sky Watch: August

There seems to be a bit of a buzz amongst astronomers and astrologers this month. With mercury in retrograde we get an opportunity to gaze at some amazing sights. Even if we’re all having a terrible time communicating with everyone because of the retrograde, it will still be nice to see some beautiful sights. Jupiter will grace us with its presents this month and a regular ‘old geezer’ of a meteor shower straight out of Perseus. What’s on the way?

Jupiter:
From the 1st to the 31st, we’ll be able to get a chance to see this super gas planet in the skies. As an added bonus, we’ll even have the chance to gaze at Jupiter’s moons Io, Ganymede, Europa, and Callisto. What’s great about this is that you can see the raging surface with a small telescope or binoculars.

They’ll look like little objects near the very bright Jupiter. For the entire month of August, Jupiter will get brighter and brighter until the 31st where its long trek across our solar system will begin all over again. If you’re lucky, you could even see the famous red spot of Jupiter. Don’t miss out! Interesting fact: Jupiter only seems to come by every 5 years and travels 2.8 billion km.

Perseid Meteor shower:
Though it might be a bit of a disappointment due to the full moon, we’re still excited for this shower. If you wake up early in the pre dawn hours on the 10th, you may be rewarded with brighter meteors. The Perseid meteor shower won’t be quite as bright as usual, but you should still try and catch it.

At the peak of this shower, the meteors come fast, and will be rather recognizable. The best time to see them is between midnight and dawn on the 12th or the 13th of August. This is one of the most famous meteor showers we get. We have records as far back into 36 A.D. from numerous Asiatic astrologers.

Astrologers have estimated that the showers will begin around the 10th and will most likely last until the 15th. The full moon will take place on August 13th and the light will over power the meteor shower. Interesting fact: The reason behind the name Perseid is because the meteors seem to be coming out of the constellation Perseus.

We’re not sure about you but we’ll be will be out and about in the night with our binoculars and telescopes to see some of these awe inspiring finds! Wish us luck in getting some pictures.

Cartomancy – A personal spiritual journey.

So what is Cartomancy exactly? During my research I’ve found it’s a way to provide a reading with a regular deck of cards. This practice came about sometime after the 14th century soon after ‘playing cards’ were introduced in Europe.

Though reading of cards or objects (runes, Sticks, or other methods) has been something done over centuries Cartomancy has a solid practice other than the tarot. There are even accounts of ancient Egyptians that would create their own ‘decks’ to help with divination.

As I continued my journey into Cartomancy I was able to come across many different types of ways to read cards. With all my questions I gave a quick call to a psychic that has a lot of experience with Cartomancy. I was presented with the Karma system by the psychic Margie (extension 7020).

The Karma system is a simple way to start your practice with a regular deck of paying cards. Step 1, getting a deck of playing cards. Now the unwritten law about this is they have to be a gift given to you. Have a friend or a family member buy you a pack of regular playing cards.

You can make your own cards but getting them as a gift seems to be easier. Once you’ve gotten the cards be sure to remove the cards 2’s – 6’s in each suit (Hearts, Clubs, Spades, and Diamonds). You should only have the Aces, Kings, Queens, Jacks, 10, 9, 8, and 7’s in each suit.

Step 2, you have to give your energy to the remainder of the cards by shuffling them a lot. Margie says that you would also have to wrap the cards in something soft like nylon or silk and sleep with them under you pillow for about a week. The Karma System suggested to me by Margie is an interesting structure based on the 7 card and piles of 4.

A bit complicated and awkward for me since I’m more used to the Celtic cross Tarot lay out. Practice seems to be the first thing that I can think of when involved with card reading. This usually isn’t something you can have down in a matter of a couple of days. There is an art involved and of course how you interpret the cards is very important.

So as the weeks progressed I’ve found through a lot of practice and paying attention to what my cards tell me the art of divination by the Karma System has been getting to be a bit easier to read. Any system you use will and could alter by the time you’ve reached a level your own personal spiritual growth will take you.

Margie says that the system she uses now is nothing like the one she had originally been taught but is now something more personal. Like a thumb print our spiritual sides is in some way a mirror to our own individuality and the cards used will show this spiritual individuality.

You see I’ve been told that reading of cards is all based on how you or your reader is connected to them. How well they’ve been able to psychically connect and how well they are able to translate the message being given through the cards.

Not everything you read or have been told can be 100%. Life just doesn’t give that type of guarantee even though some of us really would like that. According to sources everyone has the ability and opportunity to change what is foretold. Destiny is something only an individual can undertake willingly or not. Hence free will.

All About Reiki Pt 1.

Many people have been asking me about Reiki. I have been a Reiki Practitioner since 1995, so that’s about 16 years or so. I first learned it from a couple of Australians who were Reiki Masters and were taking a workshop I attended in Colorado Springs.

I don’t really know why I was attracted to learn Reiki, although in hindsight I can see causes and connections. I just went ahead and did it without any hesitation. It has turned out to be quite a good thing. What is Reiki? Reiki is a form of healing energy, which is typically transferred from the practitioner to the recipient through the practitioner’s hands.

It is not a form of massage, although I have known massage therapists who were also Reiki practitioners. Typically, the Reiki practitioner places their hands on certain areas of the recipient’s body and allows them to stay there for several minutes. These hand placements are called “Hand Positions.” The practitioner’s hands will often get warm or hot as the energy flows through into the recipient.

After a period of several minutes, the practitioner will shift their hands to the next part of the body. I know that sounds simple, but that’s pretty much it. The practitioner is a “channel” or conduit for the Reiki energy to flow through. There isn’t any visual way to confirm that the energy is being transferred. However, most people will feel it after a while.

Reiki’s Origin, History, and Development
Reiki was originally discovered by Dr. Mikao Usui of Japan in 1922. He is said to have gone up on a mountain to meditate for 30 days. He was doing a special meditation where he sat under a waterfall for a period of time. I think this must have opened up his Crown Chakra.

Just before the 30 days were up, he was hit by a bolt of light and the Reiki Symbols flashed into his mind. On his journey down the mountain, Dr. Usui hit his foot on a rock. He put his hands on the injured area and immediately felt better. I think he realized immediately that something was different.

Soon afterwards, he began teaching Reiki to students. Dr. Usui established Reiki clinics in Japan. I think he made special efforts to help poor people as well.
Dr. Usui developed all the basic methods and ceremonies that are still used by Reiki Practitioners today. This includes the Hand Placements, the Reiki Precepts, the Reiki Symbols, and the Attunements.

The Reiki Precepts
Dr. Usui developed the Reiki Precepts. They go something like this:
Just for today, do not be angry.
Just for today, do not worry.
Just for today, be grateful.
Be diligent in all undertakings.
Treat others with kindness.

I think these were developed as simple reminders for his students to guide them in their practice. I think it was a way for him to help ensure that his students enveloped and maintained a certain mindset in their practice.

The Reiki Hand Placements
In his clinics, Dr. Usui made careful notes of the various ailments that his clients reported, and on the various hand placements that his students (practitioners) used. Eventually, some patterns emerged and this gave birth to the sequence of Hand Positions that are used in Reiki today.

The Reiki Symbols
The first Reiki Symbol is the so-called “Power Symbol” or Cho-Ku-Rei. This initiates the energy transfer and can help to get people grounded. In Reiki Level Two, the practitioner is given three special symbols to use in their practice.
These symbols seem to amplify the energy and extend its healing abilities into other realms.

The second Reiki Symbol is called “Sei-Hi-Ki” and is said to be used for mental and emotional healing and clearing.

The third Reiki Symbol is called “Hon-Sha-Sei-Sho-Nen” and is used for distance healing. It allows the energy to travel through time and space. I know that probably sounds fantastic (and in some ways it is), but I have used this symbol to send Reiki to people far away, and to heal things in my past and past lives. I have sent Reiki to people I don’t even know and have never met, and have received confirmation that they have felt it.

Learning Reiki
Reiki can cost a lot of money to learn. I don’t know what prices are nowadays, but when I learned it, Reiki I was about $75.00, Reiki II was (I think) $150 to $250 and Reiki III (Master Level) was $2500. There was a Reiki Master years ago that a friend went to in Denver that would do the attunements for all three Reiki Levels for $400. But he would attune 10 people at a time.

It was probably almost more like an assembly line. So be warned and ask questions. My friend liked it, it seemed to work for her and she didn’t have the money to spend that the other Reiki Masters were charging. The whole subject of Reiki Lineage can be confusing. Apparently there is something called “Usui Reiki” which is supposedly traces its origin back to Dr. Usui, and then there are another lineage or lineages that goes back through other Reiki Masters.

In reality, all Reiki practitioners should be able to trace their lineages back to Dr. Usui through one of his students whom he passed on the lineage to. In (traditional) or Usui Reiki, people are required to pay large amounts of money to learn it.

This is still the case in the other lineages but I think perhaps the prices are lower. I myself did not learn “Usui Reiki”, but as far as I know, my Reiki masters still trace their lineage back to Dr. Usui. This may or may not be an issue for someone contemplating learning Reiki.

In such a case, it might be well to investigate the alternatives. I didn’t know about “Usui Reiki” when I first learned Reiki back in 1995, but this appears to make no difference. I know from my own experience that Reiki is effective – I have proven that to others and myself repeatedly.

July sky bustles!

This month is a busy time for our solar system!

Firstly, it’s Neptune’s Birthday! For over a hundred years, Neptune has been a confirmed planet, yet is just now finishing its first complete solar cycle! It takes Neptune about 165 years to go full circle on the arc around the sun! When Pluto was sadly demoted from planet status in 2006, Neptune became the farthest planet in our system.

On July 12th, Tuesday, if you have a telescope, or even a good pair of binoculars, you should be able to spot Neptune in the very early morning. Those familiar with the brightest star in Aquarius will have no trouble locating the planet Neptune in the late evening/ early morning sky.

One should also note that this area would be roughly the best place to look for the peak of the Aquarid meteor shower later this month, which takes place around Delta Aquarii. The best time to take advantage of viewing this is around 3:30am (EST) on July 29th, in the southern part of the sky. This shower will be viewable from late July to early August.

Other planets this month are Mercury and Saturn, which will be visible throughout this entire month, with Mercury moving way in August, and Saturn staying visible until October of this year.

In the northern hemisphere, the best viewing is to the west at dusk, for Mercury the best night to view it is the 19th, with Saturn staying well visible until the fall. You can see both with the naked eye, but if you have the aid of a telescope or other optic device, it will certainly enhance your viewing!

Lastly, Mars, Venus, and Jupiter will also be visible in the very late evening and early morning, pre dawn hours. You should be able to view them unaided, but as previously stated, some kind of viewing enhancement would be best.

Jupiter will be the first you’ll be able to see starting around midnight (EST) followed by Mars around 2am (EST) and finally Venus will be visible between 4am (EST) and sunrise. Venus may be especially difficult to see due to the proximity of twilight. Using the moon as a starting point, you can locate them especially easily during the week of the 24th.

Double Dark Moon.

Double Dark Moons are pretty uncommon which happens when two New Moons are in one month. Like the month of July 2011 we will have a new moon on the first and then another on the 30th. The next double new moon phase will not happen until January 2014. New Moons signify a time of darkness that last roughly 1-3 days before the new crescent of the moon.

This should not be confused with a Blue Moon. The blue moon is when you have two full moons in one month. The Dark moon is just a new moon, according to scientists. It’s when the moon is in conjunction with the sun and seems to disappear. This phenomena lasts anywhere from 1-3 days depending and usually isn’t that significant.

From many psychic viewpoints, a dark moon is in many ways is the most powerful time psychically on a personal level. It’s a time when we as individuals can plunder our deepest self, feel the longing in our souls and it gives us the chance to hear what messages our psychic energy is telling us. A Dark Moon has been linked to the analogy of ‘a dormant seed under the winter snow’.

This moon phase makes us feel tired or in need of solitude which is great for making space within ourselves as well as exploring your spirit. With the Dark moon we should be preparing for a ‘new beginning’ with the start of the crescent. Many psychics, astrologers, and Neo-pagan practitioners say that dark Moons are the part of the cycle where nature reminds us that there is death and then a rebirth of new.

Some psychics say that during a dark Moon, we are able to open doors in to the past and we are more prepared to clean them up so that we can grow spiritually. The moon has been linked many times with emotions and with this Dark moon in July, the intuitive psychic self will get the chance to take over since emotions will be ‘covered’.

In many cultures the dark Moon was a time for women folk to gather and draw wisdom from there psychic energy. In one article, I came across there were women who would join for the dark moon. Through their monthly cycles, these women were able to connect on a psychic level so that energy could be obtained and maintained through rituals.

By synching their cycles (which has been noted when woman live in close quarters) they were able to share visions, receive divine messages, and open up their spirituality to a higher knowledge. Many goddesses were connected with dark Moons. The most famous one is Hecate and in some cases, Lilith and Kali as well.

Hecate is the goddess of dreams, night, cross roads, ghosts, magic and much more. She also protects the realm that is between the conscious self (the real world) and the world of spiritual realms. In many ways, Hecate is considered the Lady Pluto in some Wiccan or Neo-pagan societies.

An interesting fact: Scorpio is the ruler of death and rebirth and the ruling planet for Scorpio is Pluto. Pluto is also associated with the underworld and the Greek God Hades. Lilith, also known as Adam’s first wife in Jewish Mythology was also celebrated during the dark moon. She has become a significant influence among wiccans and feminist along with the Hindu goddess Kali.

Although there are several sources stating the usage of Kali and Lilith is a ‘cultural appropriation’ of the actual goddesses. There are many different rituals for the dark Moon, some I found to be frightening, and then some I thought were very interesting ways to enlighten one’s spiritual side. Personally, you won’t see me practicing anything in the dark. I’ll leave that up the Neo-pagans.

What It Means To Be an Empath.

You may notice on our site than some of our psychics are listed as “empathic.” These are people who are sensitive to the emotions of people around them to the point that they can practically feel what’s going on in a person’s life.

A person who is empathic can feel out a person’s troubles when they’ve only said a few words. In fact, sometimes, empaths are capable of feeling other people’s emotions better than their own because of their outward sensitivity.

Empaths can potentially see other people’s auras, but that sort of thing isn’t even necessary for these gifted people. They can just sense the emotion on others and it can be both a rewarding and painful experience.

Empaths can often find themselves overwhelmed by the people around them. They’re always being flooded with emotions, like how a sponge soaks up all of the water around it. They internalize the problems people have and this is what makes them excellent listeners and caring individuals.

Summer Tips!

It’s come to my attention that summer is right around the corner. Memorial Day weekend has come and gone. The summer Solstice is right around the corner. Family and friends having barbeques, the pool party invites are pouring in by the dozen.

The season of summer seems to be biting us all like the mosquitoes. So to kind of kick off the summer I’ve decided to make a list of summer fun and things to avoid. Hopefully everyone will have the best summer ever!

Summer Fun:
1. Plan some Summer Activities – If you have children of any age great summer activities are the best way to keep the kids busy when school is out. Why not try something like making home made ice cream? Nothing says hello summer than some ice cream on a hot day.

2. Get a Psychic Reading – Find out if that cute guy you keep talking to could be the start of a summer romance. You never know he could end up being the one you’ll stay with through the long winter months ahead.

3. Get out and Enjoy the Weather – Who said you had to stay home when summer is breaking out of the shell? Why not go on a vacation and enjoy some time with some family or even some great friends? Maybe go on a picnic with that new cutie you’ve met? Spending some time outside could be the best answer to your lingering winter time blues.

Things to Avoid:
1. Sun Burn – Every summer since I can remember usually starts off with me forgetting that the sun can burn me. Blisters aren’t a very classy thing to sport while in your hot summer gear. Plus years later you wouldn’t want to do some damage to your skin that you couldn’t’ reverse. Like that popular song said ‘Always wear your sunscreen’…Maybe a hat too just to be safe.

2. Alcohol – Alcohol has a dehydrating effect on the body. Extreme heat and alcohol can equal serious injuries, illness and even death. So be careful when consuming the product and make sure you keep your self hydrated with things like juicy fruits such as watermelon, cucumbers, corn on the cob. Or keep some classic summer time drinks like lemonade, ice tea or even some fresh ice water available.

3. Being Bored! – The thing to avoid this summer is getting caught in the bored vortex. Get out and have some fun. It’s summer time!

The Guard Fish.

We often encounter animals in our lives that we have known before. What most people don’t know is that animals can be different in past lives than they are today. Here’s an example that I think you will find interesting. I know someone who has three dogs.

They are miniature pincschers. Each one is unique and definitely has their own personality traits. Tom, the oldest dog, is the largest. Tom is also very protective and will bark at anyone he doesn’t like. (Especially if he’s in the car.) And he just loves me to death.

Whenever Tom sees me, he gets excited. Even though he doesn’t have much of a tail I can still see his whole body wiggle. If I am sitting, he has to jump into my lap. When I pet him he gets all excited and starts making noises. “Aourrrr!!!”. (Well, something like that.) If I’m doing something in the kitchen, he will sit with his back touching my leg.

I was thinking about Tom’s ear one day. He has one ear that stands up straight and one ear that sort of flops down half way. It just seemed strange to me. Later on, I asked “Cat”, one of Foretell’s psychics about it. She said that I knew Tom a long long time ago, and that he had been one of my pets.

In that (past) lifetime, I had several pets. I had a big beautiful bird, which it turns out was my cat Charlotte, that I have written about previously. And then there were three animals that are these three dogs that I am talking about here. But they weren’t dogs back then. The other two dogs? Well, one (Beau) was a monkey, and the other (Setii) was a horse. And Tom? Tom wasn’t a dog, like he is today.

He was a fish! A big, huge prehistoric fish! He was probably about 6 feet long, with a big mouth full of big, sharp teeth. And he had a fin, on the top, that was sort of half folded over. (Just like his one ear is today.) He was also easily excited and defensive, just like he is today. And he loved me to death back then too. So you see, the personality traits and many physical characteristics carry through from lifetime to lifetime.

Back then, I had Tom as a pet, but he was more of a “guard fish.” if you will. I had him in a pool of water near the door inside the house, and whenever anyone came in, (especially if he didn’t like them) he would get agitated and thrash around. I think he even might have made some kind of noise (kind of like he does today.) And he would wiggle also when I came in because he was happy that I was there. Some things never change!
