For any relationship to work there must be three elements; silence, respect, and sharing. Relationships teach us silence. Silence enables us to listen and to experience the relationship as it truly is. It enables us to know when to speak and act for the greatest benefit. Relationships also teach us respect for other lives, and only to take that which is truly needed. Relationships also teach us sharing. They teach us how we can best live in the world with one another.

 

This exercise will give you the opportunity to examine your predatory role in relationships. Allow your totem to lead you along the way to your past. You will stop at each of your most important relationships. Observe yourself in these relationships objectively,. And allow your totem to show you weather you were in the role of the predator or pray or if there was a sharing of the roles.

After examining several of these, you should begin to see a pattern, allow your totem to lead you back to the present. Then allow your totem to show you the one quality above all else that it can teach you in order to have balance in relationships. Allow your totem to melt into you, to heal and balance, and open your eyes to a new awareness.

 

 

A New Life

A friend came over the other day. I hadn’t seen her in a while. She had lost her job and was working as a janitor. This was difficult for her because of her age and her pride and because she has a lot of resentment. She felt she had been wrongly dismissed and was considering a lawsuit.

 

Then she went into her financial problems: numerous credit card debts, medical bills, a husband who gambled. Then she went into her dreams. She wanted a better job, and mentioned the possibility of working on a cruise ship. She also wanted to buy an RV and just be able to go wherever she wanted.

 

After she left, it fit suddenly dawned on me that what she really wanted was a new life. That was a real eye-opener for me. I was so struck by her situation, being torn by guilt over the past and yet wanting a new life and not really knowing how to go about it. I think many people feel the same way.

 

I believe that life works from the inside out. What do I mean by that? It’s called metaphysics. Basically all the thoughts, feelings and beliefs we carry within us create our reality. If you want something, you have to change yourself, not the outside world.

 

All of our thoughts and beliefs are constantly being projected 24 hours a day into the outside world. While we can’t see them, these vibrations manifest our reality and attract like vibrations to us. Sometimes some of them take a while to manifest, and other times they manifest quite quickly.

 

For example, if you have resentment, you will constantly attract people and situations that cause you to feel resentful. If you have a victim type mentality, you will constantly attract people and situations that make you feel wronged. But if you feel love and compassion you probably won’t have much problems with anyone.

 

You can change your external situation, but it will only be a matter of time before it comes around to you again. And usually, if you have unfinished business with someone, even if they are not around anymore, you will attract someone who was just like them until you clear that up.

 

The problem facing my friend is that she is torn between wanting a new life, but she is not quite ready to let go of her old life. What would she have to do? In her particular case, she is swamped by guilt. Most of this unfortunately is due to her religion, her ethnicity and her husband.

 

Since guilt is her biggest pattern, that would be the best place to start. The metaphysical answer to guilt is forgiveness. She could start with “I forgive myself for wanting a new life.” Now that might sound strange, but in reality that thought of feeling guilty for wanting a new life actually keeps her from having it.

 

Then, since most of her anger and resentment has to do with her husband, that would be the next best place to work. “I forgive my husband for making me feel guilty.” She would probably have to make a list of all the things she hates/resents her husband for and then do affirmations to forgive him.

 

This can be a long process. It can also bring up a lot of deep emotions. But ultimately it is worth doing. Guilt over the past can keep you stuck – for your whole life. The good news is that once you start clearing out these things, it changes the dynamics of your relationships. If you no longer hold resentment or anger toward someone, then when they go into whatever pattern they run to trigger you, it won’t have the same effect, and you can (hopefully) choose a new response to them. Once the pattern of fighting or arguing is broken, the relationship can change.

 

It happens quite frequently that people in relationships have been together before, and the dynamics are the same as they were before. It can be quite illuminating, to say the least, to have a psychic help you to see what happened back then. Then – more affirmations to forgive, release and let go. We frequently enter into karmic relationships to have another chance to clear things up with the other person. It’s also another opportunity for spiritual growth.

 

In my friend’s case, her issues with her husband are basically keeping her stuck in her present life. Forgiving him would be the best place for her to start if she wants a new life.

Cleansing the Aura with Feathers

One of the most common methods of using feathers is to cleanse or dust the aura. Most people today associate them with Native American and shamanic activities. Feathers used for this process are called a variety of names, the two most common being the aura duster or a feather duster. They take a variety of forms and depictions.

 

The human aura is the energy field that surrounds the human body in all directions. It is comprised of many forms of energy, but has a strong electromagnetic aspect. This means we are constantly giving off and absorbing energy. Everything and everyone we encounter has the capability of effecting our energy.

 

Unless we are aware of this exchange, we can accumulate a lot of “energy debris”in the course of the day. In many ways it is like static electricity that has accumulated and has a detrimental effect.

 

Aura dusters are affective to use before and after any healing activity. They are also beneficial to use every day to sweep out the energy debris you have accumulate in the course of the days activities.

 

1. Because the aura extends in all directions, you want to preform the dusting in the front, back, sides, head and feet.

 

2. Do not touch the body with the feathers, but simply use a soft, sweeping motion about 2-3 inches out from the body.

 

3. Start at the head and move down..Visualize as you do that you are literally sweeping and dusting all the negativity away. from the body. Remember all energy follows thought, and birds and feathers are linked to the thought process.

 

4. Also sweep the front and back, and do extra dusting at any area of the body, you feel inspired. Go under the arms, and have the individual raise his or her feet to dust them. You may even envision it as if you are creating an ethereal wind to sweep over and cleanse that area of the body.

 

5. To enhance the effect, smudging can also be used. This is a Native American process of brushing the fragrance and smoke of incense over the body, to further cleanse and purify. Often a bowl is used to burn the incense, and the smoke rises, it is brushed with the feather(s) over and around the entire body of the individual. It is a means of bathing in the purifying fragrance. Sage, cedar, and sweet-grass are common herbs for this. Frankincense and myrrh are also effective cleansing fragrances that can be used.

The Universe Is a Dance of Energy

A universe, a single song of ever changing rhythms and harmonies. Sustaining the melody of the physical world is a rich interplay of counter-point and decent. We see only a fraction of the band of radiation that makes up the spectrum; we only hear only a small range of possible frequency of sound.

 

Ordinarily, we are conscious of only one, isolated melody; we listen to only a piccolo out of an entire orchestra. To trance is to shift and expand our awareness: to pick out the beat of the drum, the throbbing violins, the cry of saxophones, To know the interwoven harmonies played in new keys, to thrill to the soaring symphony itself.

 

Deeper levels of trance may open up paranormal senses, psychic awareness, precognition. We may empathize and connect with other beings and life forms; in Balinese, the word for trance means “ to become. “ Trance states, states of non-ordinary consciousness, have been called by many names: expanded awareness, meditation, hypnosis, “getting high.”

We all experience light trance whenever we are daydreaming; concentrating deeply, watching a play, film or television show; turning attention inward; and forgetting the sensory world. In deep states, we may have experiences such as John C Lilly describes: “I moved into a region of strange life forms, neither above nor below the human level, but strange beings, of strange shapes, metabolisms, thought forms, and so forth. These beings reminded me of some of the drawings I had seen of Tibetan gods and goddesses, of ancient Greek portrayals of their gods and of some of the bug-eyed monsters of science fiction.”

Preparation for Raising Energy

Since your body is the channel or valve through which the energy you raise passes, it behooves you to keep in good shape. I realize that physical fitness not only improves my psychic ability, it is also good for my overall health and well- being.

 

Proper Diet:

 

What you eat has a profound effect on you. There is no point in working out if your not eating right.. A high fat, or processed diet or an excess of caffeine, tobacco, or alcohol can destroy more than you body. It interferes with your thought process and causes changes in your energy levels. If you ever try to meditate with someone who is drunk will know what I am talking about hear.

 

A balanced and healthy diet will stabilize your energy, clarify your mind, and improve your ability to conduct energy. Many say that a mostly vegetarian diet is best for over-all health and energy. The old adage to enjoy everything in moderation, but nothing in excess has been proven in recent studies to be true. The latest findings indicate that the addition of a little fish or poultry into a mostly vegetarian diet to be the healthiest. Adding a moderate amount of red wine or grape juice to the diet has also been found to be beneficial.

 

Those of us who have taking antioxidants for years are pleased to hear they have discovered that vitamins C and E and especially green tea to not only repel cancer, but to destroy it in the body. There are numinous benefits also from drinking at least eight glasses of fresh, clean water per day. All of these things that are beneficial to the body have an impact on ones spiritual or psychic fitness as well.

 

Adequate Rest:

 

You can not effectively meditate if you are fatigued. Fatigue makes concentration harder to achieve. If your tiered, be honest with yourself get some rest rather then pushing yourself. Do your mediation when you are fresh. Meditation is a useful tool; the mind rests in silence. If fatigue is a  problem, check out the effect of some meditation exercises, that are comfortable to you.

Anyone can meditate, anywhere. The word meditation conjures up visions of a monk sitting in a lotus posture, hands in his lap, staring into nothingness. But many people in Western culture find this posture uncomfortable. They are not as accustomed to sitting on mats or on the ground as people in some other cultures who practice this every day. Fortunately one can meditate just as effectively sitting in a chair. But certain elements are essential.

 

Upright posture is very important. It improves both breathing and the flow of energy or Chi. Sitting slumped over deceases the flow of oxygen and can eventually lead to distracting discomfort. One way of straitening your posture is to imagine a string attached to the top of your head. Imagine this string pulling upward, pulling your head and spinal column into line. This visualization will naturally put you in the best posture.

 

Some people find it useful to pick a spot to focus on, especially in the beginning. This may be a spot on the wall, a candle flame, or an arbitrary spot on the ground about six feet in front of you. A variation is to close your eyes and visualize an object like a feather or candle flame directly in front of your nose. The trick is to breathe gently enough that your breath does not cause the imaginary feather or candle flame to flutter. Another trick is to imagine a vapor cloud coming out of your nose when you exhale, something like the cloud of vapor you see on a frosty day. When you inhale, the cloud is drawn back into your nostrils. You simply “watch” the cloud expand and contract.

Rest the palms of your hands on your knees, close your eyes and imagine yourself inside the globe of your own Medicine Wheel. Visualize the direct contact you have with the cosmic forces flowing along conduits to the center of your globe which is the center of your own being.

 

Now breath in by pushing out the abdomen to take air into the deeper recesses of the lungs and count four seconds. Hold the breath to a count of four, then expel the air by pulling in the abdomen, also to a count of four. Then pause to a count of four before inhaling and repeating the cycle. Do this four times. This is called the four-fold breath and helps to clear the mind as well as relax the body.

 

Consider the globe around you as the clear outer envelope of your aura. Now, imagine that membrane covering as a hard plastic shield through which no unwanted influences or harmful energies can penetrate. Concentrate on this for a few moments. Then take four more four-fold breaths to confirm your activity, Your aura is then sealed, for the power of your thought will have preformed the sealing. You will have built around you a shield that allows through only positive light energies but, which will screen out negative or destructive influences. Now open you eyes.

 

Although this may seem simplistic, it is a technique that is in accordance with a cosmic law that energy follows throughout . After you have practiced this exercise a few times you will be able to preform it with little conscious effort, so practice it before you proceed.

Retrain yourself to recognize every small achievement or a major goal. Celebrate your success and it will grow!

 

Do what brings you joy.

Happiness comes from doing something that gives us pleasure and meaning. It could be a hobby, read a book or cook something tasty. Have fun with it!

 

Express gratitude.

Don’t forget to be grateful for everything that makes your day better. Even if this just simple smile.

THE WEST:

 

The West corresponds to the element of Water, to emotions, to twilight, autumn, to blues, grays, deep purple, and sea greens, to sea serpents, dolphins, fish, to the power to dare. From the West comes the courage to face our deepest feelings. It’s tool is the cup or chalice, which holds water. Water sings: Pieces, Cancer, and Scorpio.

 

WATER MEDITATION:

 

Face West. Ground and center. Feel the blood flow through the rivers of your veins, the liquid tides within each cell of your body. You are fluid, one drop congealed out of the primal ocean which is the womb of the universe. Find the calm pools of tranquility within you, the rivers of feeling, the tides of power. Sink deep into the well of the inner mind, below consciousness x 4.

 

THE NORTH:

 

The North is considered to be the most powerful direction. Because the Sun never reaches the north it is the direction of Mystery, of the unseen. The North Star is the center, around which the skies revolve. Alters face north in several religion. North correspond to the Earth, to the body, to midnight, winter, brown, black and the green of vegetation. From the North comes the power to keep silent, to listen as well as speak, to keep secrets, to know what not to say. The New Moon that is not yet visible. The sacred Bull is the totem of the North.

 

EARTH MEDITATION:

 

Face North. Ground and center. Feel your bones, your skeleton, the solidity of your body. Be aware of your flesh, of all that can be touched and felt. Feel the pull of gravity, your own weight, your attraction to the earth. You are a natural feature, a moving mountain. Merge with all that comes from the earth: grass, trees, grains, fruits, flowers, beasts, metals, and precious stones. Return to the dust, to compost, to mud.

Projection

Projection is the ability to send out energy. It comes quite naturally to most people, once they are aware of it”s “feel.” Projection is also used in another sense to mean the ability to travel “out-of- body: that form of projection will be discussed later. We have already experienced what it feels like to send out energy. Hear are two other exercises:

 

Exercise A.

 

THE ROCK:

 

Ground and center. Imagine you are standing on the seashore, looking out over the waves. In your strongest hand, you hold a heavy rock Pick it up, inhale, and as you exhale, let it fly! Watch it splash into the sea just below the horizon.

 

Now look up again, realize that you can see a horizon twice as far away. Mentally stretch to see it. In your hand you hold a rock twice as large as the first. Again, take a deep breath, and as you exhale, through with all your mite. Watch it splash into the far waves.

 

Once again, look up and realize that you can see a horizon twice as far away, again. In your hand, you hold a rock twice as heavy. Take one more deep breath, And as you exhale, throw hard! Watch it splash.

Practice this exercise until you can feel release of power that goes with the rock.

 

Exercise B.

 

THE HAMMER:

 

Ground and center. Visualize a heavy hammer in your hand. A stubborn nail is sticking out of the board in front of you. With all your strength, drive the nail into the board. Repeat, doing it three times in all.
